The present invention provides an optical disk having high density and excellent quality as well as compatibility with conventional disks. This optical disk is comprised of a disk-shaped substrate formed with a cyclic olefin copolymer as its main component and a light-curing resin layer formed on the disk-shaped substrate, wherein a relief-and-indentation is formed on the light-curing resin layer based on given information. The same effect can be obtained using a heat-curing resin in place of the light-curing resin. The present invention also allows optical disks having such superior characteristics to be mass-produced.
