PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing ginseng obang confectionery(obang means five colors of red, white, black, yellow and blue in Yin-Yang and the Five Elements of Oriental medicine) by soaking sliced fresh ginseng in honey syrup and then coating or mixed with an obang material is provided. Therefore, the product has the characteristic color and taste of obang material as well as ginseng efficacy of lowering cholesterol or fat absorption. CONSTITUTION: Sliced fresh ginseng(100) is steamed, dried with hot air, soaked in honey syrup(102) and then dried to a moisture content of about 10%. Thereafter, the dried ginseng is coated with an obang material containing red pepper powder, pine pollen, green tea powder, black sesame and white sesame, or mixed with at least one of them. In the drying process with hot air, the ginseng skin(101) is separated from the body into a thickness of 0.1 to 0.5mm.
