The method involves generating two field images with polarization filters, which are perpendicular with respect to each other, at an inclined observation angle. A summation picture is generated by adding the two images. The field images are compared pixel-by-pixel by generating a comparison value for each pixel that exceeds a predetermined threshold corresponding to a given intensity difference is marked in the summation picture. The comparison value is a measure of the difference in intensities between the compared pixels. |
