PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-handle cover type endoscope of which the insertion portion is mounted with an endoscope cover formed by winding a multiplicity of sheet materials like a roll to the outer periphery of a core material formed to a tubular form and which makes the use of always the clean insertion portion possible by stripping the sheet material and removing filth at every use without carrying out bothersome attaching and detaching until there are no more rolls of the endoscope cover once the endoscope cover is attached to the insertion portion. SOLUTION: The endoscope cover 30 is formed by winding the sheet materials 34 formed to a belt form around the outer periphery of the core material 32 formed to the tubular form. The endoscope cover 30 is attached to the outer periphery of the insertion portion 14 and the filth sticking to the outer periphery of the endoscope cover 30 is removed by stripping the sheet materials 34.
