PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding tool for receiving a fishing rod having a simple structure, convenient for carrying and holding a rod receiver optimal for installation on tetrapods. SOLUTION: This holding tool 1 for receiving the fishing rod is used for holding the rod receiver 2 for supporting the fishing rod. The holding tool 1 is composed of a base 5 fixed on a fishing seat with a belt 4, a passage hole 1b provided in the base 5 for passing the belt 4 therethrough and a rod receiving supporting part 11 holding the lower end of the rod receiver 2. The holding tool 1 is provided with a belt passage hole-forming body 9 placed on the base 5 and forming the passage hole 1b and the rod receiving supporting part 11 placed on the belt passage hole-forming body 9.
