Improvements in and relating to dry lubrication

In a method of effecting dry-lubrication of a bearing, the bearing surface is plated with lead and colloidal graphite in liquid suspension is sprayed or painted on the lead-plated surface in a thin uniform layer. The colloidal graphite may be in aqueous or white spirit suspension. The bearing surface is subsequently polished with soft cloth or tissue paper. The lead plating has a thickness of the order of 0.0001 to 0.0002 inches.
