The invention relates to a method for the contactless transmission of measurement data via at least one transmission channel between a measuring device, which comprises at least one sensor, and an evaluation device, said measuring device being mounted on an object that can be displaced in relation to the evaluation device, in particular on a machine-tool component that rotates during operation. According to said method: energy is transmitted from the evaluation device to the measuring device by means of an inductive coupling between a transmitter of the evaluation device and a receiver of the measuring device; the load in the measuring device is determined by measuring the current in the evaluation device; measurement data determined by the sensor is transmitted to the evaluation device by means of a load modulation in the measuring device; and the transmission channel is calibrated by applying a calibration load to the measuring device. The invention also relates to a device for the contactless transmission of measurement data.
