The wheel has a number of spoke units with angular spacing interconnecting the hub (12) and wheel rim (1). Complementary left and right hand spoke covering elements (3,4) are fitted to the respective ends of the hub and abut upon one another and interact with each other, forming a space to accommodate the spoke units. Each spoke covering element has a central section (30,40) extending out from the hub, and a number of equally spaced apart plate sections (31,41) extending radially from the central section. Each plate section of the left hand cover element abuts on a corresponding plate section of the right hand cover element.
