In a disk cartridge such as for an optical disk, a shutter member for opening and closing an opening for a record reproduction unit is operated in a stabilized manner. A disk cartridge 10 comprises an upper shell 12, a center frame 14 and a lower shell 16 that are fixed together, a shutter mechanism consisting of first and second shutter members 34, 36 interposed between the center frame 14 and the lower shell 16, wherein when the two closely contact each other, the front end of a shutter lever 46 holds down and locks the end surface of the second shutter member 36 that is opposite to the first shutter member 34.
