PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide remote image data acquiring system/method, which are advantageous for recognizing the minute situation of a site in a remote place on a real time basis. SOLUTION: A site side control means 24 of a site side terminal equipment 20 controls an operation of a camera means 21 based on a prescribed command. A site side communication means 22 transmits moving picture data and still picture data, which are outputted from the camera means 21, through the Internet 40 and receives the prescribed command. An operation means 32 of an operation side terminal equipment 30 inputs the command. An operation side communication means 33 receives moving picture data and still picture data, which are transmitted from the site side communication means 22, through the Internet 40, and transmits the command inputted by the operation means 32. A display means 31 displays moving picture data and still picture data. A storage means 36 stores the still picture data.
