<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aspect ratio converter for avoiding mismatching between a color of a side panel and a frame color of a display device in the case of displaying a standard video image with a first aspect ratio on the wide (laterally long) display device with a second aspect ratio in a form of the side panel. SOLUTION: A side panel signal generating section 28 generates three RGB primary color signals and a side panel signal where the contrast can interlockingly or independently be changed. Then the color of the side panel signal is varied according to the frame color of the display device.</p> |
