PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide general-purpose information terminal equipment where data in a memory card having a security function can be protected with respect to access to stored data and to provide a data reading method of general-purpose information terminal equipment. SOLUTION: Similarity is discriminated in an authentication processing part based on reference time information which is preliminarily set by associating time information on an inputted password with the password. Reading data quantity from the memory card is controlled based on a discriminated result from the authentication processing part.
