A gas generator G, comprising a hollow body 3 for charging therein gas generating agent 2 generating gas by combustion and a holder 5 disposed in the hollow body 3 and having an ignition means 1, the hollow body 3 further comprising a step part 12, the holder 5 further comprising a holder body 16 and a weldable member 6 partly exposed to an outer peripheral part, wherein the holder 5 is formed so as to be fitted to the step part 12, and the weldable member 6 is welded to the hollow body 3 to seal the inside of the hollow body 3.
