The dual-purpose stand capable of holding a musical instrument, such as a violincello or guitar, or sheet music comprises a connecting part (10), a middle leg (112), two auxiliary legs (113), a pivot frame (12) and a central column (13). The middle leg and the two auxiliary legs, which are on opposite sides next to the middle leg, are so fitted to the connecting part that the middle leg is fixed to the connecting part and the two auxiliary legs are arranged rotatably. The pivot frame is U-shaped and the central column is pivotably fitted to the pivot frame by a screw. The connecting part comprises an upper plate and a lower plate. The middle leg arranged between upper and lower plates and the pivot frame fitted to the upper plate are fixed by two fixture components to the connecting part. The two auxiliary legs on opposite sides next to the middle leg are rotatably fitted by two connecting components between the upper and lower plates.
