PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the non-wasteful sailing of an oil tanker by utilizing the tanker for transporting oil cargoes on a forward route and a fresh water on a backward route. SOLUTION: All ballast tanks formed in a double hull space are fresh water tanks 4a-4e and 5a-5e, and two combining tanks 11, 12 are provided at a central portion of a hull for combining a sea water ballast tank and a fresh water cargo tank.
