PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform and FRP excellent in the impregnation properties of a resin at the time of injection molding, highly developing dynamic characteristics such as compression strength or the like and weight reducing effect after the application of an impact or moist heat treatment and having stable quality, and a method for manufacturing them with high productivity. SOLUTION: The preform is obtained by laminating a plurality of reinforcing cloths formed from at least reinforcing fiber yarns and a resin material based on a thermoplastic resin other than the reinforcing cloths is provided to the gaps between the layers of the preform and the respective layers containing the reinforcing cloths and the resin material are bonded. The reinforcing fiber volume ratio VPf of the preform is 45-62%. Further, FRP comprises the preform and a matrix resin and the preform is impregnated with the matrix resin.
