PURPOSE: To provide a method of driving a liquid crystal display device which is capable of improving the display quality of a display screen by preventing horizontal streaks from appearing on a display screen when the device is driven by inverting the polarities of gradation voltages for every N (N>=2) lines. CONSTITUTION: The method of driving the liquid crystal display device having a plurality of the pixels and driving means of outputting one gradation voltage among M (M>=2) pieces of the gradation voltage to each of the respective pixels comprises inverting the polarities of the gradation voltages outputted by each of the respective pixels from the driving means for every N (N>=2) lines and varying the voltage values of the m (1<=m<=M)-th gradation voltage outputted to each of pixels from the driving means when the gradation voltage is outputted to the pixel on the first line right after the polarity inversion and when the gradation voltages are outputted to the pixels on the lines not inverted in the polarities following the first line right after the polarity inversion.
