PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of devising miniaturization and reduction of the cost of a lens barrier mechanism. SOLUTION: In this camera having the lens barrier mechanism arranged at the edge of a lens barrel and protecting the front of a photographic lens, the lens barrier mechanism is equipped with barrier members 5 and 6 opening/ closing a nearly rectangular aperture area E through which photographic luminous flux is made to pass, and a barrier driving member 4 formed almost like a ring and making the barrier members perform opening/closing operation by rotation around an optical axis. In a state where the barrier members are opened, the long side part of the area E is formed by a member constituting the lens barrel, and the short side part and the periphery part of the angle part of the area E are formed by the barrier driving member.
