PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize necessary space for temporarily placing an escalator platform plate provided in an escalator platform and sufficiently secure a passage for pedestrians when carrying out maintenance inspection of an escalator facility. SOLUTION: A first surface plate 5 and a second surface plate 6 are connected so as to bend by a connecting hinge 8, and when an upper part side of a machine room is opened, the first surface plate 5 and the second surface plate 6 are vertically placed at an edge of a machine room upper part.
