PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label for a container capable of enhancing workability in intentionally peeling the label from the container with the label stuck thereon while preventing the label from unintentionally being peeled and to provide the container with the label. SOLUTION: There are a second strong adhesive area 17 and a second weak or non-adhesive area 18 at the rear edge portion 2b of the label 2 on the reverse surface of the label 2. The whole surface of the second strong adhesive area 17 is coated with an adhesive agent 11 and upper and lower corner portions of the rear edge portion 2b are strongly bonded to a bottle with an adhesive agent 11. The second weak or non-adhesive area 18 is located in the central portion in the widthwise direction of the label 2, contacts the rear edge margin of the label 2 and extends continuously lengthwise slenderly in the widthwise direction of the label 2.
