PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biaxially oriented aromatic polyamide film excellent in characteristics such as tensile strength, dimensional stability and surface nondefective properties and to provide a manufacturing method which prevents cutting of the film in a process of orientation of an aromatic polyamide film and can improve productivity, by using a method of simultaneous biaxial orientation. SOLUTION: In a state of containing a solvent of 5-80 wt.% to an aromatic polyamide, an unoriented aromatic polyamide film is oriented continuously in longitudinal and lateral directions simultaneously, with the opposite end parts thereof held by a pair of clip groups on the left and the right. On the occasion, the film is biaxially oriented simultaneously, with a draw ratio by area of 1.5-4.5. |
