PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color photosensitive material which allows four or more photosensitive layers to satisfactorily exhibit their capacities without restriction by a chemical reaction, increases accuracy of color reproduction independently of the potential of the photosensitive material, improves color reproducibility and can attain satisfactory color reproduction and to provide an image processing method and apparatus using the material. SOLUTION: The color photosensitive material has at least four photosensitive layers different from one another in spectral sensitivity waveform in the visible region, covariance among at least four photosensitive layers is <=0.5 and at least four photosensitive layers develop separate colors under coloring materials having mutually different spectral absorption waveforms after development. The color photosensitive material is exposed and developed to form an image, this image formed on the color photosensitive material is inputted by an image inputting device having at least four photosensitive parts different from one another in spectral sensitivity waveform and the resulting input images are color-converted.
