PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a start-up characteristic of an electronic time piece in a low voltage. SOLUTION: A terminal voltage of a timer means is made equal to a generation voltage by providing a start-up auxiliary circuit for connecting a power generation means directly to the timer means. The start-up auxiliary circuit is operated to be brought into a conductive condition during stop of oscillation in the timer means, the start-up auxiliary circuit is operated to be brought into a non-conductive condition during start of the oscillation in the timer means and a step-up means is operated, so as to allow self-start-up for the whole electronic time piece even in the low generation voltage. The electronic time piece is thereby allowed to be operated even by a solar cell of single stage constitution.
