<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal compound having highΔεand high K33/K11 ratio, a liquid crystal composition giving a liquid crystal display element having high contrast and drivable at a low voltage by using the compound, and provide a liquid crystal display element produced by using the liquid crystal composition. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal compound is expressed by general formula (1) (A<1> , A<2> and A<3> are each independently a cyclohexane ring, a 1,3-dioxane ring, a benzene ring or a benzene ring having halogen atom substituting at least one of the hydrogen atoms; Ra is a 1-20C alkyl wherein arbitrary CH2 group in the alkyl may be substituted with O, S, CH=CH or C≡C provided that O and O are not adjacent to each other and arbitrary hydrogen in the alkyl group may be substituted with a halogen; Z<1> , Z<2> and Z<3> are each independently a single bond, (CH2 )2 , (CH2 )4 , COO, OCO, CH2 O, OCH2 , CF2 O, OCF2 , CF=CF, CH=CH or C≡C; and (m) and (n) are each independently 0 or 1).</p> |
