PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression-molded detergent composition which has good mechanical stability even when stored under high temperature conditions for a long period of time and, simultaneously, easily disintegrates with low temperature water to exhibit excellent solubility. SOLUTION: The compression-molded detergent composition can be obtained by subjecting a mixture containing detergent granules whose surfaces are coated with a clay mineral and disintegrant granules to compression molding. It is preferred that the clay mineral is at least any one of talc and kaolin; the detergent granules have an average particle diameter (a mass average particle diameter on a sieve) of 300-1,500μm; the disintegrant granules have an average particle diameter (a mass average particle diameter on a sieve) of 200-1,500μm; and the inter-particle void fraction is 1-10%.
