PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic wire which has more improved abrasion resistance of tooth part, has a prolonged life and contributes to improvement of productivity of card. SOLUTION: This metallic wire has a tooth tip part provided with a metal flow approximately perpendicular to the direction of carding action. This method for producing the metallic wire comprises forming a wire rod of material into a metallic wire base by deformation, forming a saw tooth-like tooth part on the metallic wire base by rolling at 3-4 stages and in the tooth part, forming the metal flow which is curved approximately in the same shape as that of the tooth tip part and is continuously arranged in the length direction.
