When a memory card (24) is inserted into a housing (12) of a memory card connector (10), a terminal (24b) of the memory card (24) contacts a contact terminal (26) so formed as to extend in an inserting direction in the housing (12). When the memory card (24) reaches a mounting position, a locking mechanism (16) locks the memory card (24) at the mounting position by engaging with a side recess (24e) of the memory card (24).
