PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method of cooling molds of a glass product forming machine. SOLUTION: The device for cooling the molds of the glass product forming machine has a pair of movable mold arms (12 and 14) attached to hinge posts (16 or 104 or 130) and at least one mold parts (18) for forming the molds for the glass products. The respective mold arms (12 and 14) have inlet coolant flow passages (44 and 52) and outlet coolant flow passages (48 and 56) respectively operatively coupled to at least one mold parts. Liquid coolant sources (72 and 76) and liquid coolant returning means (74 and 78) are connected to the hinge posts. The first coolant flow passages (32, 34 and 35) extend between the liquid coolant sources of the mold arms and the inlet flow passages through the hinge posts and the second coolant flow passages (36, 38 and 39) extend between the outlet flow passages and the liquid coolant flow returning means through the hinge posts.
