PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder for cultivation management in gardening or horticulture, made of cylindrical cardboard and improving an oxygen supply, drainage and water retention of a planted site and contributing to environment- friendly recycling of waste materials through cleverly reusing a discarded cardboard cylindrical rolling core for agricultural plastic film. SOLUTION: This cylinder 1A for cultivation management in gardening or horticulture is obtained by the following practice. The outer circumferential surface of a longer cylindrical pipe 1 made of hard cardboard and having a relatively small diameter is broadly bored with many holes 2 in advance and the resultant cylindrical pipe 1 is cut to pieces each of a length corresponding to the embedding depth of the root of a plant for gardening or horticultural use. This cylinder 1A is embedded in the soil near to the plant 3 in such a state that at least one end 1B of the cylindrical body is exposed off the soil surface, thereby having advantages of contributing to environment-friendly recycling of the waste materials and accomplishing cost reduction.
