PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing treating boiled rice by a microorganism without generating malodor or the mass of microorganisms. SOLUTION: When the boiled rice is charged in a processing vessel filled with a mixture of the microorganism and the microorganism base material made of crushed matter of coconut husks and the boiled rice is subjected to decomposing treatment by microorganism action by using a garbage disposer, for example, water content of the microorganism base material is kept at 30 to 50% by adjusting agitation condition, for example, to prevent the microorganism base material from forming a mass and to suppress activity of the microorganism from lowering. By adding a nitrogen compound, pH of contents is adjusted at 5.5 to 8 to suppress concentration of acetic acid or of ammonia from rising and the boiled rice can be treated without generating malodor. In order to prevent activity of microorganism from lowering, C/N of the contents may be set at 20 to 80 by adding the nitrogen compound.
