PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for bar coating whereby homogeneous coated surface properties can be given to an object to be coated even when the object is conveyed at a high speed. SOLUTION: Between a support roll 32 and a coating bar 16, a press roll 54 is arranged so as to be in contact with an aluminum web 14 from the reverse side of the coating bar 16. Since the aluminum web 14 during conveying is prevented from flapping, the contact between the aluminum web 14 and the coating bar 16 is kept in a constant state. A liquid mass 52 existing between the aluminum web 14 and a weir 20 is stabilized, preventing coating streaks, etc., due to the turbulence of the liquid mass 52 from occurring in the applied coating liquid 50. Thus, homogeneous coated surface properties can be given to the aluminum web 14. |
