PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the enjoyability of a variable display game played in a game machine having a variable display device by producing unprecedented effects of variable display and to relatively easily confirm the state of stored wins for starts, even during the variable display game. SOLUTION: The game machine has the variable display device 102 having a display part capable of displaying the variable display game using a plurality of symbols, a start storage means capable of storing the starting requirements of the variable display game as stored starts up to a predetermined number, and a display control means 400 capable of running the variable display game according to the stored starts, with the playing condition of the game machine varying depending on the result of the variable display game. The display control means includes a storage display control means for displaying on the display part a display of stored starts for making the player recognize the number of starts stored in the start storage means, and an effect display control means for producing the effect display of the variable display game using the display of stored starts.
