PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality estimation device and a quality estimation method of welding which performs quality estimation of welding accurately in real time. SOLUTION: Quality estimation of welding is performed on the basis of the shape of thermally influenced part 12 which is a solid phase part around a heating point 10 of welding and is elevated to a prescribed temperature range by the heat of welding. The reference information is prepared on the basis of the shape (Fig. 1a) of the thermally influenced part 12 in the normal welding condition. By comparing the reference information with the information showing the shape of thermally influenced part actually obtained, the quality estimation of the part which is welded at present is performed. When the abnormality of welding occurs, the shape of the thermally influenced part 12 is deformed (Fig. 1b, c) and the quality estimation is performed based on the change in shape.
