PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine that can select either memory transmission or direct transmission, transmit an original as an attached file of an electronic mail and cause no communication error in the case that the facsimile machine is set to fax the original in the direct transmission and transmits the original as an attached file of an electronic mail. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine selects the memory transmission or the direct transmission for an original to be faxed and inhibits transmission when the direct transmission of the original to be faxed is selected and an electronic mail address is designated as a transmission destination of the original to be faxed.
