PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that can efficiently process an image at a low cost in the case of using an automatic original feeder with an original turnover function to copy both sides of a double sided original. SOLUTION: In the case of using an image forming device provided only with a one-side function to form an image on both sides of a recording medium from a double-sided original fed from the automatic draft feeder with a double- side function, both sides of the original are read (steps 401 to 412), the correlation between the pieces of image information on the first and second sides of the original is stored, and the image is formed on the first side of the recording medium (steps 421 to 429). In the case of forming an image on the second side of the recording medium, the second side of the recording medium is manually set, the read image information for the second side of the original is read according to the stored correlation and the image of the second side is formed (steps 430 to 440).
