PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component (chip resistor 1) with which adverse effect of marking can be prevented on the chip resistor 1 and on which small letters or symbols can be marked. SOLUTION: A character or symbol is deposited on a surface by an ink-jet technique. An ink 2 contains photo-curing agent, and this photo-curing agent is cured by ultraviolet ray. A recording head 5 used for the ink-jet technique comprises a container 3, ink 2 and piezoelectric element 4. By applying a voltage to the piezoelectric element 4, the ink 2 is discharged from a discharge port 7 and marking is performed.
