PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly sensitive, positive electrification type electrophotographic photoreceptor for copying machine and printer by using a new organic material which has not been conventionally used as a charge transfer substance in a photosensitive layer. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer containing a charge generating substance and a charge transfer substance formed on a conductive base body, the photosensitive layer contains at least one kind of electron transfer compound expressed by general formula (I) as the charge transfer substance. In formula (I), each of R<1> , R<2> and R<3> independently represents hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or an alkoxy group which may have substituents, nitro group, cyano group, an aryl group which may have substituents or residue to form a ring, A<1> represents an oxygen atom or =CR<4> R<5> , and Z represents an arylene group which may have substituents.
