PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize a television image with a browser image to be able to display the display image synthesized with the browser image according to a display style designated by a side that broadcasts a television signal. SOLUTION: A television broadcast apparatus 1 transmits a television signal multiplexed with control data for controlling the browser function of a television receiver 2. A television image generation part 20 generates a television image according to the television signal received. A browser display instruction acquisition part 71, a URL acquisition part 72, and a display style information acquisition part 73 extract control data multiplexed with the television signal. Upon reception of a browser display instruction 111, a microcomputer 51 receives a content 102 corresponding to a URL 112 from a server 3 and generates a browser image according to the URL 112. An image synthesis part 30 synthesizes the television image with the browser image according to display style information 113 received from the microcomputer 51.
