PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more enhanced image processing method and apparatus in order to attach electronic watermark or tracing information to image data. SOLUTION: The image processor for processing image information includes a reconfigurable MPU capable of reconfiguring the internal configuration, a program memory for storing software programs used by the reconfigurable MPU, and a work area work memory that is used by the reconfigurable MPU and temporarily stores various data. The reconfigurable MPU includes a logical arithmetic unit 251 and an arithmetic unit 252 that executes an arithmetic operation of (a+b)/2}, the software program controls exchange of data between the logical arithmetic unit 251 and the arithmetic unit 252 to execute wavelet transform to received image information.
