PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily input to the reading of Chinese characters even in a narrow display section and simplify a key operation for inputting the reading of Chinese characters. SOLUTION: When inputting the reading of Chinese characters in the alphabet, the first character, the second character, etc., of the reading are sequentially inputted. For inputting the first character, the alphabets corresponding to the first character in the reading are displayed on a display section as the candidate characters and an input character is determined by selecting a desired one from them. By determining this input character to be 'Z', the input character 'Z' is displayed in an input character display area 402 in a selected screen 501 and a candidate character following this input character 'Z' in the reading of Chinese character is displayed in a candidate character display area 403. By selecting and deciding a desired candidate by moving a cursor 405 from the candidate characters, or by selecting the desired candidate character with a dial key, this candidate character becomes an input character, which is additionally displayed in the input character display area 402. |
