PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevatable illumination device enabled to accurately control a position of an elevation part with good reproducibility. SOLUTION: An elevation part 40 winds up and down a belt 30 according to the rotation of a drum 20 mounted to an elevator body 10. Holes 31 are bored in the belt 30 at regular intervals along the longitudinal direction. The position of the elevation part 40 is determined by counting the number of holes with a counting means like a sprocket type pulley 151 mounted to the elevator body 10.
