PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush holder which can be standardized for use irrespective of the existence of a choke coil. SOLUTION: This brush holder 8 is formed integrating its holder body 17 with a power supply portion 15 and a uniting portion 18. Inside the engaging recess 15a of the power supply portion 15, power terminals 16 are formed exposed. The bottom portion 17d of the holder body 17 is equipped with connector terminals which continue from the power terminals 16 via the medium of the uniting portion 18, and brush-housing portions 17e and housing portions 20 are formed. The housing portions 20 are provided with wall portions 20a and elastic pieces 20b, and protrusions 20c are formed in the wall portions 20a. Holes are formed in the bottom parts of the housing portions 20, and parts of the connector terminals are exposed by the holes and form exposed portions 19a. In the exposed portions 19a, the holes are formed. The housing portions 20 are formed so as to be able to house choke coils 23 or terminal boards 29 connected to brushes 7 via pigtails 7a.
