PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flicker preventing means and device for an image forming apparatus using flash fusing which can properly improve a flicker with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The flicker preventing device connects circuits in which at least one set of a semiconductor switche end and a capacitor are connected in series at a power source receiving end are connected in parallel as a flicker preventing means for the image forming apparatus using the flash fusing in a fixing means, and has a control means to control the opening/closing of the semiconductor switch. The control means carries out the control of the semiconductor switch by synchronizing it with the charge starting signal of a power source and the charge completion signal.
