Automated activation of a vehicle functions for reversing, such as motor vehicle rear reversing lights or reversing alarm, based on detection of movement direction and differential calculation of distances traveled

System for activation of equipment, such as motor vehicle rear lights or reversing alarm, whereby detection means and computer are provided to determine whether the vehicle is moving forwards or backwards. The system is based on differential calculation of the distances traveled in two displacement directions of the vehicle. To prevent limitation of vehicle dynamics during rear movement the system functions can be deactivated as required.
