PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice information transmission/reception system and method by which many unspecified people can exchange voice information with the Internet by using conventional telephones without the need or using computers such as personal computers. SOLUTION: A server main body 4 of the voice information transmission reception 3 is connected to the Internet 1 and a public telephone line network 2 and includes; a streaming data processing section 7 for converting streaming data distributed on the Internet 1 into voice signals receptible by a telephone T; and a control section 6 for receiving a voice signal sent from the telephone T and controlling the distribution of a voice signal to the telephone T. When the server main body 4 receives a listen instruction comprising voice signals from the telephone T, the controls section 6 accesses a particular Web page designated by the listening instruction, the streaming data processing section 7 downloads the streaming data distributed from the particular Web page and converts the downloaded streaming data into voice signals, and the control section 6 distributes the converted voice signal to the telephone T. |
