<p>A method and system (830) are provided for determining the identity of computer peripheral devices (834) that are coupled to a computer (832) in a daisy chain configuration. The computer (832) includes a first switch (858). Each of the plurality of computer peripheral devices (834) includes a bypass board (846) having a second switch (862) thereon. The method includes: (a) opening the first switch (858) and the second switches (862); (b) closing the first switch (858); (c) detecting a short circuit formed between the computer (832) and each one of the plurality of computer peripheral devices (834); and (d) identifying one of the computer peripheral devices (834) which detects the short circuit as the first identified peripheral computer device (834). A method and system (830) is also provided for sharing resources in a computer system (830), which includes a computer (832) and computer peripheral devices (834).</p> |
