The protective shrouding (10) for an endoscope (11) covers at least an endoscope shaft (12). During an examination, the shrouding remains in place, and a shaft section (20) of the shrouding covers the shaft without play, at least in zones. The shrouding has a ring loop (23), for pulling over the shaft.
