The invention relates to a rigid axle for a vehicle, comprising an axle base, with axle journals or wheel carriers at the ends thereof, and at least two trailing arms stationarily mounted on the axle base. Every half of the rigid axle, when viewed from the axle center, comprises, disposed one after the other, an axle base section, a trailing arm section and a wheel head section. The wheel head section consists of at least one axle journal or one wheel carrier. The faces of the suspension tube sections are at least partially identical with the adjacent faces of the trailing arm sections and the latter are identical with the adjacent faces of the wheel head sections. The adjacent sections are welded together on their respective faces. The invention provides a rigid axle for a vehicle which increases driving comfort and driving safety while reducing tire wear. |
