PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight surface woody structure which has a wooden style having a warmth, which is optimum as that having a necessity of a light weight such as play equipment, a rehabilitation implement or the like and which can be perforated so as to solve the problem that though wooden play equipment has the warmth but a large one is unsuitable for an infant because the large one is heavy, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the light-weight surface woody structure 10 comprises the steps of cutting a V-shaped groove 2 along an overall surface of a desired outer surface shape of the structure on a plate material 1 having a woody skin layer, bending the material 1 having the woody skin layer at the groove 2 and covering the material 1 on a synthetic resin foam 4 of a core material molded in a substantially profile of the structure, and adhering the material 1 to the foam 4, thereby obtaining the structure 10. The method further comprises the steps of supplementing a reinforcing core material 5 at a partly perforated position of the foam 4, bending the material 1 having the woody skin layer at its exterior at the groove 2, covering, adhering and then perforating the skin layer and the core material 5 of the perforated position.
