PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose sterilizing filling method in which flavor of acid-based food or beverage of low nutrition to be filled is not changed or deterioration of nutritious substances is not produced, chemical agent is not used, no expenditure is paid for monitoring its quality or monitoring a work environment, a heat-resistant characteristic is not required in the container and its facility does not require a costly-high expenditure. SOLUTION: There is provided a sterilizing filling method in which a plastic container is sterilized and acid-based food or beverage of low nutrition having as its decayed item the true fungi is filled in the plastic container. The sterilization is carried out such that a pulse light generated by a xenon flash lamp 13 is radiated against an outside part of a PET bottle 10 and this PET bottle 10 is transparent.
